Triplanar Projection Seamless Texture in Blender

30 Apr 26 (1mo ago)

Triplanar projection is a quick and effective way to texture a terrain landscape since unlike props or hero objects they don't have a fix UV space.

Fortunately, blender offered this for a long time now albeit in a different naming.

You can see the set up below

Blender Triplanar Projection Seamless Texture Workflow

Key Parameters

  • Box Mapping
  • Use the Scale from Mapping Node to have a more smaller or bigger texture
  • Usually, for environment texturing, you would mix and match several triplanar texturing (like grass, mud, soil etc) and just use masking to hide the repeatitiveness.
