Get the Closest Point

I have a several teeth geometry that needs to get separate controls. In addition, the controls will be constrained to a deformed geo through Rivet. I can manually do it in Maya by selecting those individual points in the mouth that is closest to the teeth. But it would be more sustainable to do it in Houdini the selection of those individual points. Export those data and import it to Maya as sets and proceed with the creation of rivets.
