  • Roughen Edges (Border and scale)
    • Can also be done as a noise brush where a shape is in an alpha matte. then the border is in large scale but the scale is small.
    • The above effect is a gaussian blur.
  • Alternative to roughen edges is the turbulent displaces. Affects the whole image and not just the edges.
  • Posterize Time
  • Fractal Noise (gives you this grungy look) Grainy quality. Set to Multiply and just loop
  • deep glow
  • Halo Like Effect
  • Fast Box Blur > Invert Alpha > Set Matte. Then have it as overlay. (Subtle Texture Mattes in After Effects - Quick Tip.mp4)
  • Paper Effect. Probably the best one. using several stack layer effects
